Yesterday I borrowed the DVDs of GTA IV (mind you the game is approx 14 GB and comes on 2 dual layered disks) from my friend for the sake of testing it, if it works then I would have bought the new game. I really hoped this would work good on my PC atleast with the lowest graphics but to my disappointment the game is a flop even on considered good PCs.
My PC is capable of running everygame including but not limited to Crysis and Half Life 2. But GTA IV makes me look my PC aged. I upgraded my PC just 2 months ago and it doesnt seems to run GTA 4. How sad is that. Anyways I ahve added the benchmark results here.

Yep, I tried IV on my PC, and it goes to show that it was poorly optimised. It should run fine on even a relatively weak PC, and it could’ve used less memory than it should, but still it sucked.

You made an uninformed purchase. The card you bought requires a PSU with 350w. Yours only has 300w. You will need a more powerful PSU to be able to use this graphics card.
You will need to install gta 4 1.0.0.4 patch. Also, try optimizing your pc. Increase pagefile, don’t use a wallpaper and visual style. Don’t run useless programs. Defragment your harddisks and free some space. Install latest update of Nvidia forceware. Install latest version of directx. Use some optimization softwares and remove the unwanted one’s. Use nvidia cpanel to modify settings. Use pgware gamegain too. That will make it faster…

windows xp performance edition im installing nowas it didint work rete well on my windows 7 so ive reinstalled xp performence edition ill be back in a hour or so with results
weird, i have a 8400 gs (i dont know if turbo cache is enabled..
) and i only get something like 20-30% video memory usage and 80+ in system memory
