The following article lists some simple, informative tips that will help you have a better experience with sponsoring the right WordPress themes to gain lots of proper backlinks. I have seen that most of the people find sponsoring a wordpress theme to get quick and cheap backlinks out there.

Sponsor a WordPress Theme

But the fact is that if you don’t concern on certain things then you might be wasting your money for nothing rather than of what you think is you might be accumulating backlinks.. Today we bring you 5 things to check before sponsor a wordpress theme. These 5 thing are must read and one have to acknowledge before sponsoring a wordpress theme..

Quality & Niche / Pricing

To start off make sure you like the theme. Its not just that you like it but the theme should be good enough to attract a large group of users to download. Well this might be quite hard because people have different smacks but you can get a generalized idea if you take a quick survey of what people feel about the theme.

Sponsor only those themes that match the niche of your website so as your backlinks count. Most of you might be knowing and some might not that all the backlinks from websites of different niches than yours don’t count in Google. It means that yous is a tech site and the site backlinking you is a sports or an apparel website. Why will some one from sports or apparel website link you ? SO that doent count while calculating your PageRank most of the time

Now don’t just buy a sponsored link in a theme because you get it for 5$. 5$ might be a good bargain for buying a link but what if no one uses it. Eventually you will lose your 5$ for no gain…

Number Of Sponsored Links

The second thing to consider is how many sponsored links are there on the theme. The less the sponsors the more the people download it. Its a plain psychology that people dont like linking every website for no use. So 1 or 2 or at max 3 links are most that they can share sitewide for using the theme. No one will download a theme flooded with 10 links in footer. So I suggest you to prefer for those templates where there are 3 or less footer links in all including sponsored links.

Submission

This is the third part that you need to look in is where the theme is being submitted. If the theme is good it ultimately gets many downloads, but still everything needs promotion. So basically if your theme is listed on major websites like wpthemesfree etc.. then there are more chances of publicity and more downloads. So submission 10 major websites is far better than submission 50 websites with no traffic. I will be adding a list of popular websites where you need to submit your wordpress theme soon.

License

This is also an important factor to measure. Well nowadays I see people don’t mind linking back the original creator as compared to previous years when copyright infringement was high. Like for example people used to rip off links and original source from any free themes etc..
So no license is also plays an vital role now. Make sure the theme work is unique and licensed.. Ask the author to license the work before uploading. Don’t sponsor GNU licensed themes, GNU means no link back is necessary that means it is legal to remove sponsored links, I suggest you to sponsor themes with Attribution-NonCommercial-NoDerivs License which means the users can share this theme but cannot build upon it and must attribute(link back) the things (sponsors) as the author specifies.

Encryption

In my opinion, this doesn’t matter whether the theme is encrypted or not. Every problem has a solution to it. So every theme can be decrypted, if you cant I can teach you that. Apart from that wordpress.mu provides a free service on how to decrypt footer.. So the thing is if your theme is good, unique and licensed just sit back and relax.. 90% people will not attribute the links in the footer as it is. They are least bothered about it, where as there exist some people who rip it off, we really can’t help it. Can we ?

However when they create something by themselves they will understand how it feels when someone rips your work..

Thats all for now.. I hope this piece of informations helps you in sponsoring the right theme.
