Redirection sure would served a purpose, as I would have used it when permalink structure was switched. I will keep it in mind in case another alteration of that type occurs. The SEO Smart Links plug-in also sounds great for certain words that we want to have lead to full articles. They would have to be specific, and this plug-in could save quite a bit of effort.
